One of the most important aspects of high school is social in nature–in this stage of late adolescent social development, it is important for people to get to know more of their peers, socialize, form friendships and relationships, some of which may last for a lifetime. Many people, especially if they had graduated from high school a long time ago, may look back at that time in their lives with a strong sense of nostalgia, reminiscing about the exciting and often awkward experiences that they’d had that have played a great role in making them into the kinds of people that they are today, and giving them the necessary social tools to survive in the “real world.”
Many also feel disconnected from former classmates, and may wonder how they have fared in life since they parted ways after graduation. That’s why many high school classes organize class reunions every once in a while (for more info on these, check out the “Class Reunions” tab above), but often people just want to get in touch with particular classmates, reconnect, possibly even revitalize a once vibrant friendship or relationship.
Thankfully, with the advent of the Internet and modern telecommunications technologies, finding former high school classmates has become much easier, and there are specialized services out there that help you reconnect with them and find out what they’ve been up to all these years. One of the most commonly used services is Classmates.com, where you can register online and get in touch with people who graduated in your high school class.
