Class Reunions

Class ReunionsIt is customary in many countries and throughout different educational systems for high school classes to reunite periodically after graduation, generally every five or ten years. These events, known as high school reunions, or simply class reunions, are often held in or around the high school itself, and a teacher (or teachers) may be invited as well. These high school class reunions are excellent opportunities for people to reconnect, to see what has been going on in each one another’s lives, and reminisce about their good times in high school.

These reunions also often put pressure on people, either in a good way to push them toward genuine achievement to compare with others, or in a not-so-good way by making them try to come up with all kinds of lies about their personal and professional accomplishments since their high school graduation.

Organizing a class reunion often takes time and effort, and a lot of careful planning by a reunion committee that works out all the details of the organization, including the date, venue, financial aspects–hiring caterers, photographers and videographers, decorations, etc. One of the most important parts of reunion planning, besides the budget, is actually finding the right time when everyone, or at least most former classmates, can attend, and getting in touch with everyone to try to figure out such a time and place. But the rest really depends on the wishes and expectations of the class–what events to include, how formal it should be, etc.
